Next Steps for High-Risk CTCL Assessment

The app score alone does not mandate a biopsy. For clinically suspected MF, the international expert panel supports specialist or experienced pathology review.

Sampling discussion

International expert panel (2022): suspected early MF
  • Expert-panel guidance for suspected early MF: obtain at least two representative punch samples, preferably 6 mm; consider deeper sampling for suspected follicular involvement.
  • The panel advises stopping topical corticosteroids and other skin-directed therapies for at least two weeks before sampling. Individualize interruption with the treating clinician.
  • App workflow reminder: confirm specimen handling and ancillary testing with the receiving laboratory before sampling.
Build the biopsy requisition

Prepare clinical history and proposed ancillary requests for pathology review.

Route the referral

Review recorded features and an app referral checklist; the clinician determines timing.

Track the lesions

Map lesions and record baseline photos so you can compare over time while the workup proceeds.

Give the patient a handout

Print neutral information and questions to discuss with the care team.
